2005 Timetable of Events

Saturday 10th September 2005

Opening Ceremony - Stone House, Coast Road. Conducted by West Mersea Town Mayor - Alan Mogridge at 10.30 am.

Lifeboat Station open day from 10 am onwards

Jazz Band - Tom Collins Jazz Band - 10 am - 4pm, playing on the green in front of Stone House, Coast Road.

Story-teller - Jan Williams. Workshops running in Marquee opposite Yacht Club at: -
10.30 - 11.15 Family
12.00 - 12.15 Young
13.30 - 14.15 Family
14.30 - 15.15 Young

Cookery demonstration by Ursula Ferrigno of Taste Italia from 11 am onwards
(Mobile kitchen kindly supplied by Colchester Institute)

Smugglers re-enactment exhibition from 11am onwards

Launch - from end of Causeway to Packing Shed Island - 2pm - 6pm

Liz Morris - Local Artist will open her Studio at Stone House from 11am onwards (Entrance opposite Yacht Club car park)

Mersea Fishermen's Open Boat (MFOB) a.k.a. Winkle-brig Points Race - Start opposite Dabchicks Sailing Club at 14.00

Punt racing - they haven't fixed a start time or date - they're a bit laid back...

Boat races prize-giving at Coast Inn - 4.30pm

Sunday 11th September 2005

Oyster Dredging Match, off Seaview Avenue 11am - 1pm With prize-giving at 2 pm in the Packing Shed

Jazz Band- Loyd Ryan Jazz Quartet - 10 am - 4 pm, playing on the green in front of Stone House, Coast Road.
