The
Mersea Seafood Festival celebrates the maritime heritage of Mersea Island with
a series of events centred on the waterfront in the ancient 'City' of Mersea.
Planned to coincide with the beginning of the oyster season,
the festival is an opportunity for residents and visitors to learn more of the
fascinating history of this fishing community, see ancient crafts being demonstrated,
and sample the famous Colchester Oysters and locally produced wines. See
